Beginning of the new academic year

The British European Azerbaijani School (BEAS), the only face to face Azerbaijani school in London, held an event on the occasion of the beginning of the new academic year.
BEAS was founded nearly three years ago and has been steadily growing into an educational community hub as well school.

Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Great Britain Elin Suleymanov, the former Ambassador of Great Britain to Azerbaijan James Sharp and members of the Azerbaijani community living in London took part in the event organized at Pimlico Academy.

Speaking at the ceremony, James Sharp recalled his years as an Ambassador in Azerbaijan and expressed his admiration its people and culture. He emphasized that Azerbaijani children and youth are the future of the country and noted that they will play an important role in the development of relations between the two countries. James Sharp mentioned that he misses Azerbaijan's culture and food in particular and also shared his impressions after his visit to Lachin last year.

Azerbaijan's ambassador to Great Britain, Elin Suleymanov, spoke about the importance of preserving the Azerbaijani language and culture and passing it on to future generations. He said that it is gratifying that the young generations come together to celebrate our culture.

Later, the young students recited poems in the Azerbaijani language, played national instruments and performed a dance composition "Shushanin daglari".

Alongside students, the active representatives of Azeri community in London shared their ideas and presented their projects which promote our culture abroad.
